June Brown and Kathryn Hays were on television for a combined 70+ years.

Last week two deaths gutted me. I never met the two women who had died. I saw them for years on my TV set. One was created the same year I was born. The second woman had unshakeable faith I envied. The first woman's character was named Kimberly Sullivan Dixon Stewart Andropoulos Hughes, played by Kathryn Hays on the soap opera As the World Turns. The second woman was Dot Cotton Branning, played by June Brown. She was on the British soap opera EastEnders. Both characters and women were marvelous.
